As a follow-up to yesterday’s Homemade Sugar Scrub, I thought I’d share the ingredients from one of my store-bought scrubs.

Remember, all my sugar scrub has in it is coconut oil, sugar, and essential oils. Also remember the Benefits of Coconut Oil and Sugar Scrub? The stuff is great for your skin and health!

Now, I don’t even know what most of the ingredients in the following scrub are, but by their names, they cannot possibly be good for your skin…

“Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Pumice, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Fragrance, Acrylates Copolymer, Bambusa Arundinacea Stem Powder, Oxidized Polyethylene, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Juglans Regia Shell Powder, Cocos Nucifera Fruit Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Polyquaternium-7, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Hydroxide, Disodium EDTA, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Citric Acid, BHT, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolione, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Salicylate, Citronellol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Linalool, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides.”

What the heck IS this stuff and how much of it are we letting soak into our skin??
